Danny Grounard

Dr. Daniel Grounard serves as the Education Leadership Coordinator in the Department of Education and Special Education at Longwood University. A former graduate of Longwood (Class of 86), Dr. Grounard holds an Ed.D from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Masters of Science Degree from Longwood. His responsibility includes the leadership of eighteen adjunct faculty and 86 students. 

Dr. Grounard retired after thirty years in public education in 2016. Over the past thirty years, Danny has served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and for the last nine years prior to his retirement, the division superintendent of Nottoway County Public Schools. 

Dr. Grounard has two children and lives in Crewe with his wife Linda and their cocker spaniel Abby. In his spare time, Danny enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandson, Ben.
