Mary Lehman
Professor of Biology and Chair of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences

Mary Lehman, Professor of Biology, has been teaching at Longwood University in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences since 1998. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. from North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC) and B.S. from Juniata College (Huntingdon, PA).

-  Plant-animal interactions, specifically focused on how host plant chemistry influences the egg-laying behavior of Cabbage White Butterfly (Pieris rapae)

-  Allelopathy (“chemical warfare among plants”), specifically focused on plant responses to allelochemicals and interactions with other plant stresses

-  Pedagogical implications of learning styles
