Best thing about Longwood?

That all of my professors got to know me personally and then tailored my education to better fit my personal abilities and interests outside of the classroom.

One professor who you couldn’t have done it without?

Dr. Ruth Holliday, laboratory technician and research specialist in the biological and environmental sciences department, taught me so much about anatomy and being a well-rounded person. She was always encouraging me to keep going and strive for excellence, while also reminding me it’s okay to slow down and enjoy the little moments in life.

One unforgettable experience you had at Longwood?

Getting to plan and organize Oktoberfest my senior year. It was really fun to work behind-the-scenes with a team from different backgrounds to put on an event for the student body to enjoy.

Longwood in three words?

Way. Too. Short.

I am ready for career success because…

The opportunities to present my research gave me the confidence to present to a wide variety of audiences and develop skills that I will need in the healthcare field in the future.
