Longwood University’s MBA program was recently named one of the “Best MBA Programs for Your Money” by Money, placing it among just 33 graduate business schools nationwide to earn the distinction for 2025.
Longwood is rated four stars on a five-star scale, reaffirming that the online MBA program offers exceptional value and quality, and is among the nation’s most cost-effective options.
We are proud of the commitment we have made to delivering a quality online education to our MBA students, while remaining true to what makes Longwood so special—the personal connections and one-on-one attention that we are known for.

“Our online MBA program continues to gain national recognition for its accessibility and affordability, while not compromising on our educational excellence,” said Dr. Khawaja Mamun, dean of Longwood’s College of Business and Economics. “We are proud of the commitment we have made to delivering a quality online education to our MBA students, while remaining true to what makes Longwood so special—the personal connections and one-on-one attention that we are known for.”
Last month, Mamun shared his vision for the future of the CBE, which includes prioritizing student success, increasing the CBE’s reach and reputation and expanding offerings.
Money’s annual graduate school ranking looks to help post-baccalaureate students find the top-value programs across the country. The publication’s analysis balances quality against costs, with a focus on annual prices, debt burdens, employment rates and recent graduate salaries.
“We defined a good value as a program where you will receive a quality education for a low cost, in relation to what you are getting,” according to Money’s ranking factors summary. “Broadly, that means our ratings look at the quality of a program against its affordability.”
Longwood was one of four Virginia colleges that made Money’s MBA list, which included James Madison University and the University of Virginia.
Earlier this year, Longwood’s MBA program was ranked No. 135 nationally in Best Online MBA Programs by U.S. News and World Report, based on the strength of its affordability and top-notch faculty. The program ranked No. 1 in the category “Faculty Credentials and Training,” out of the 355 degree-granting distance-education programs surveyed. In terms of affordability, Longwood came in No. 6 nationally among the ranked programs with tuition fees lower than $450 per credit.
The innovative and rigorous curriculum, as well as its flexible online format, makes Longwood’s MBA program ideal for working professionals. Longwood’s CBE is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International)—a distinction that only 6 percent of business schools worldwide earn.
