Longwood Title IX Policy
Longwood University is committed to providing a healthy living, learning and working environment; an atmosphere that emphasizes the dignity and worth of the individual, which promotes personal integrity, civility and mutual respect, and creates an environment that is free from sexual misconduct and discrimination.
Human Tracking Training
Virginia law now requires colleges and universities to provide trauma-informed training on human tracking. Longwood has partnered with Safe House Project (SHP) to bring OnWatch (tm) to campus. OnWatch is a training course developed by the Safe House Project and unifies the voices of survivors and the expertise of industry leaders to equip communities to combat sex trafficking in the United States.
SHP's Mission Statement and Impact
Safe House Project's mission is to increase survivor identification beyond one percent through education, provide emergency services and placement to survivors, and ensure every survivor has access to safe housing and holistic care by accelerating safe house capacity and development across the United States.
To date, SHP has trained over 270K people, providing emergency services or safe house placement to 450+ survivors, and added 371 new beds in safe house programs across the nation to provide restorative care to trafficking survivors.
All incoming students will receive a Canvas invite to the OnWatch training course via email.
New students should progress through the modules that follow, taking time to read information, watch videos, and check their understanding. Please complete all modules before new student move-in. This is a required education and prevention training for all incoming undergraduate students and is highly recommended for all others.
